Tips and Recommendations

Although the EF-mount Optical Snoot Spot Projector II can be used with any Canon EF or EF-S mount lenses, to get the best results, we recommend using fast prime lenses with a maximum aperture of about f/2.8 or wider (such as 50mm or 85mm f/1.8). Using lenses with smaller max. apertures will result in dimmer projections.

The PixaPro EF-Mount Optical Snoot Spot Projector II is the ideal tool for any photographer or cinematographer who likes to get creative and add mood with their lighting, which can range from fashion, portrait, editorial and product photographers.

Important Points To Be Aware Of

Not Suitable for use with Tungsten, Quartz or Halogen Lights.

When mounting your lens to the EF-Mount Optical snoot adapter, please line up the red dot on the lens (or white square with EF-S lenses) with the red dot on the mount adapter, then turn the lens in a “clockwise” direction until you hear a “click”.

Once you have heard the click, please rotate the lens in the opposite direction to ensure that the lens is securely locked in place.

If you mount the lens in any other orientation, the lens will not securely lock, and you will run the risk of it coming loose.

Canon STM Lenses do NOT work with this Optical Snoot as they Cannot be manually focused unless attached to a camera body.
Please Note: To prolong the life of your light, and internal lens element(s) inside of your Spot projector, we recommend leaving any shutter blades open when not in use. This enables the spot projector to dissipate heat more efficiently and prevent the build-up of excess heat.
